Developing our IBS Diet

  • We offer a simple, practical and very effective diet for IBS. This diet needs to be tailored according to the type of IBS you are experiencing.

  • The diet has been used in Cambridge since the mid 1990’s by a Senior Gastroenterology consultant ( CLICK HERE ) and lead for the IBS service and formed part of the dietary treatment for IBS in Addenbrooke’s Cambridge University Teaching Hospital, and was used extensively in his private practice.

  • The consultant is now retired from clinical practice but wishes to offer the information regarding this diet to people with IBS and is a member of the team providing this diet booklet.

  • The diet is being offered in booklet form so it can be purchased by those wishing to relieve their IBS with a tried and trusted diet that is user friendly and effective for the majority of people with IBS.

  • The information provided in the booklet is not medical advice and is to be considered as information only.

  • The diet is broadly in keeping with the dietary strategy used by The NHS, British Society of Gastroenterology, British Dietetic Association and NICE. However, our diet is focussed specifically on the aspect of reducing fermentation by the colonic microbiome.

  • PLEASE NOTE THIS SERVICE IS NOT A MEDICAL CONSULTATION AND YOU SHOULD ONLY TAKE THE DIET IF YOU HAVE BEEN ASSURED BY YOUR DOCTOR THAT YOUR CURRENT SYMPTOMS ARE DUE TO IBS AND NOT TO ANOTHER MEDICAL CONDITION WHICH WOULD REQUIRE AN ALTERNATIVE TREATMENT.

  • IF YOU DO NOT RESPOND TO THE DIET IN A 2 WEEK PERIOD PLEASE SEEK ALTERNATIVE HELP
